What is Pilates? Pilates is a mind-body form of exercise designed to promote balance throughout the body integrating core strength and breath. The following principles are the foundation of the Pilates method: whole body movement, breathing, balanced muscle development, concentration, control, centering, precision and rhythm. It is about finding balance through the body with muscle tone versus flexibility and strength versus weakness. It is designed to be accessible to EVERYBODY. Pilates is a wonderful tool for preventive medicine: a great health advantage.
